INDUX R5 is an industrial radiographic film intended for non -
destructive material testing using X- or gamma radiation.
INDUX R5 is a standard-speed, high-contrast, very fine-grain
film suitable for radiography with or without lead scr eens. It is
an ideal film for most standard applications.
INDUX R5 corresponds with the class C4 classification
according to EN 584-1 standard and according to ASTME
1815 standard with class I.
Applications
INDUX R5 is suitable for the radiography of welds and medium-walled steel or thick-walled light metal parts/ products. Packaging forms

The vacuum-sealed packaging FOMAPAK ensures optimum contact of film surface with lead screens, simple handling, and
is light-tight, air-tight and waterproof.

INDUX R5 is manufactured on a dimensionally stable bluish polyester base of 0,175 mm thickness. Screens
Screens-packed kinds (FOMAPAK) content lead screens 0,025 mm thick, backed by a paper of 70 - 90 g/sq. m of basis
weight, on both film sides. Darkroom illumination
INDUX R5 should be handled and processed under indirect safelight illumination with a wavelength over 520 nm.
Recommended are safelight filters Agfa R1 filter (dark red) or Agfa G7 filter (olive-green) in a safelight lamp with a 25 watt bulb and placed in a distance of minimum 75 cm between the reflective surface and the film, or LED light sources with a wavelength of 660 nm or 590 nm.
Processing
INDUX R5 is intended both for the manual and automatic processing. Recommended chemicals for the manual processing:
FOMADUX LP-T Developer and Developer-Replenisher (5 minutes of developing time at 20 oC, 1 + 3)
FOMAFIX Rapid Fixer Recommended chemicals for the automatic processing:
FOMADUX LP-D Developer-Replenisher (2 minutes of developer immersion time at 28 oC)
FOMA LP-DS Developer Starter
FOMAFIX + FOMAFIX H Hardening Rapid Fixer.
INDUX R5 can also be processed in corresponding processing chemicals of other manufacturers, for example developer Agfa G135 for automatic processing 2 minutes of developer immersion time at 28 oC or G128 for manual processing 5 minutes of developing time at 20 oC. Archiving of processed films
The manufacturer guarantees the archival permanence of mi - nimum 50 years when complying with conditions following:
– films must be perfectly fixed and washed
– films must be stored at a relative humidity of 30 to 60% out
of reach of harmful gases. Storage of unexposed films
Unexposed films should be stored in the original packaging in a cool, dry place (temperature ranging from 5 to 21 oC, relative humidity from 40 to 60 %), out of reach of harmful vapours, gases and ionizing radiations. Films stored in a refrigerator and a freezer should be acclimatized to room temperature for approx. 2 and approx. 6 hours respectively. Exposed films should be processed as soon as possible
FOMA Bohemia Ltd. is a producer of photographic materials with long tradition. It has been founded in March 1995 through the privatization of the National Enterprise FOMA (FOTOCHEMA before 1990). FOMA Bohemia two the filial companies FOMA Slovakia Ltd. in Slovakia and FOMAMURES S.R.L. in Romania. The service for customers has been offered at the FOMA's branded shops in Prague and Hradec Kralove.
The History
The firm's origin is dated from 1921 when a company named FOTOCHEMA Ltd. in Hradec Kralove has been founded. Its products were delivered with a brand name FOMA. At first only photographic plates and processing chemicals were produced.
After a period of ten years the production of black-and-white papers and a year later the production of black-and-white roll films were opened.
In 1949 after the National Enterprise FOTOCHEMA was established, the range of products has extended comprising X-ray films, black-and-white positive copy film, black-and-white papers for industrial use, black-and-white reversal film, colour paper, colour negative film and colour reversal film.
After 1990 essential changes were made and the production of black-and-white light sensitive materials has become the dominant production program of the company.
Present times
At the present time at about 400 employees work for FOMA.
At the same time as the new production tendency was defined, a lot of attention was paid to improvement of new technologies with an aim to develop materials of new generation to be able to stand up to competition with foreign materials on the market.
Since September 1997, when this has been confirmed with a certificate all activities of FOMA comply with the international standard ISO 9001.

processing chemicals for all kinds of delivered materials as liquid concentrates or in solid form, toning solutions and wetting agents.

Economic
The rightness of the way that was chosen after 1990 is confirmed with a constantly increasing export. In 2008 the FOMA materials were exported nearly to 67 countries, such as Germany, Spain, Russia, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Italy, Great Britain, USA,Japan,Mexico, India, Nigeria, Venezuela etc.
